7 Delicious Cafes on Rhodes You Need to Try

After spending a month on Rhodes and visiting various cafés & coffee shops almost daily, we believe we have found the best cafes to visit on the island.

From specialty coffee shops in Rhodes Town to cafes with the most breathtaking views, this island is filled with great spots for lunch & coffee!

A tranquil coastal bay in Rhodes with calm turquoise water, rocky cliffs, and swimmers near the shore surrounded by lush greenery.
We could get used to sitting at cafés with views like this

Even though it was hard to find a Freddo Cappuccino that was as good as they make them in mainland Greece (sorry to say this!), most of these cafes have incredibly beautiful locations – and good coffee!

In this post, we’ve put together our favourite cafes and coffee shops around the island of Rhodes.

For each cafe, we’ve included the address and location as well as the available parking, the wifi information, whether or not they have outlets, and a link to the different cafes’ websites so you can check out their menu & pricing beforehand if you want.

Best cafes on Rhodes Island

We just concluded a month in Rhodes running our Pop Up Coliving with 11 friends, and when we weren’t busy exploring the islands, we’d be checking out and coworking from various cafes and coffee shops.

A little side note on this, if you’re planning to bring your laptop or phone and connect to public wifi (such as the wifi at the cafes), make sure you always have a VPN!

Whenever we’re working in cafés, airports, or co-working spaces, we connect through a VPN to keep our devices and data secure on public networks. In case you don’t have one already, NordVPN offers a free VPN download.

Monk Coffee

🅿️ Parking: In the city, there’s parking, but not in front of the cafe
📍 Location: Ethnarchou Makariou 14, Rodos (851 00)
🛜 Free wifi: Unlimited
🔌 Outlets: Yes
🚻 Toilets: Yes

We visited Monk Coffee a few times during our day trips to Rhodes Town, and it always hit the spot. If there is a place to get a Cappuccino, it’s here at Monk.

The staff is super knowledgeable about the coffee and always willing to answer any questions you may have about what beans they have and maybe even help you find the perfect drink.

We actually coworked from Monk a few times, as the wifi is pretty good. They do get busy during peak hours, so if you’re also planning to cowork from here, it’s best to come a bit later in the day.

Monk is a small but cozy place and is conveniently located in downtown Rhodes, really close to Elli Beach. There’s primarily indoor seating, but also a few seats in front of the big open windows!

It’s also conveniently located right next to where all the ships to Symi Island leave from. If you end up doing a day trip to Symi Island, you can always stop by Monk Coffee before you jump on the boat to Symi!

You can check out Monk’s website here and Monk’s Instagram here.

To Nisaki Cafe

A modern open-air café interior in Rhodes featuring a long bar with wooden stools, tropical leaf wallpaper, woven pendant lights, and green plant accents with patterned seating.
To Nisaki was giving us “Bail vibes”

🅿️ Parking: Parking right next to the cafe
📍 Location: Κολύμπια 851 03, Greece
🛜 Free wifi: Yes, unlimited
🔌 Outlets: Unsure
🚻 Toilets: Yes

We only went to Kolympia a few times, and both times we stopped at To Nisaki Cafe! Before you even get to the cafe, you drive down the famous Eucalyptus Street, which is really beautiful.

Personally, we think this cafe in Rhodes has one of the best views; it’s located right on the water with a Boho feel to it. It’s an indoor-outdoor cafe, so you’re covered inside, but you get the feeling of being outside.

They have everything from coffee to yogurt bowls and sandwiches! We recommend stopping by To Nisaki Cafe on your way to or from Lindos, but you can also plan to spend some time in the area.

We went swimming right next to the cafe as well, and the water was stunning!

You can check out To Nisaki Cafe on Instagram here.

Kounna Beach and Resto Bar

🅿️ Parking: Lots of parking right next to the cafe
📍 Location: Kounna Beach & Resto Bar Ladiko, Faliraki 851 05
🛜 Free wifi: Yes, unlimited
🔌 Outlets: Yes
🚻 Toilets: Yes, outside of the cafe

I’m not kidding when I say we came here 3-4 times a week for almost a month! This may or may not be the cafe with the prettiest view in all of Rhodes. It was a great place for us to cowork, but the view can definitely be a bit distracting.

You can easily make it a day trip, coming to Kounna Beach and Resto Bar. As the name indicates, there is a beach right underneath the cafe/beach bar that you can go to before or after the cafe. You can also come here on a boat tour from Rhodes!

They have delicious breakfast, brunch, lunch, and all sorts of different drinks at Kounna Resto Bar. Most days, because we went here for coworking, we were drinking mainly coffee, but we also came here for brunch!

And on their last day of the season, we stayed until close and enjoyed a few beverages while admiring the view of the bay you can see right from the cafe.

Enjoy this awesome cafe with a view, and try to come here early on your trip so you have time to come again if you enjoy it! The beach and cafe are both great, and it’s one of our favourite places on Rhodes Island!

You can check out Kounna Beach & Resto Bar on Instagram here.

Bonus info: There are some great hiking trails near the cafe 🥾

Kafenion Stou Plastira

🅿️ Parking: Few spots out front
📍 Location: Epar.Od. Apollona 301, Apollona 851 06, Greece
🛜 Free wifi: Not sure
🔌 Outlets: Not sure
🚻 Toilets: Yes

This is probably the most unique cafe on the whole island! If you’re looking to try proper Greek Coffee at least once on your trip, this is the place to do it. Greek Coffee is also very fitting with the atmosphere of Kafenion Stou Plastira.

The cafe is located in the town of Apollona, and it’s a perfect stop if you’re making your way around the island or doing a day trip to see Kritinia Castle.

You can either stop at the cafe on your way there or on your way back, as they are open quite late. It’s one of those cafes where you’ll see locals sitting outside until the late evening.

What makes this place really unique and one of the coolest experiences in Rhodes is how historic and antique lots of things are inside.

Most of the cafes on the island are super modern and fancy with incredible views, and Kafenion is quite the opposite.

For a brief moment, you forget where you are and feel like you’ve gone back in time. We even sat on the floor around one of the low tables and enjoyed a nice cup of coffee and the most delicious traditional Portokalopita (orange cake)!

You can check out Kafenion Stou Plastira on Instagram here.

Bonus info: It’s worth checking out Mageirotechneio Taverna Paraga restaurant, a minute down the road, for a good meal.

Pavo Cafe

🅿️ Parking: Yes, lots out front
📍 Location: Faliraki 851 05, Greece
🛜 Free wifi: Yes, unlimited
🔌 Outlets: Yes, inside
🚻 Toilets: Yes

Pavo Cafe, also known as the Peacock Cafe (pavo means peacock in Latin), is named after the peacocks that always wander the property! Even the drive up to Pavo, there’s a good chance you might see some peacocks on the side of the road.

This cafe is absolutely wonderful and one of our favourites in Rhodes. The cafe itself is huge, and there are tons of rooms inside or outside to enjoy the awesome view overlooking Faliraki and the coast.

The staff is super friendly at Pavo, and they were always happy to see us (we went a lot). We had a group brunch there once, and the food is really good. Definitely plan to go earlier in the day for a nice coffee and brunch overlooking the coast.

We spent many days coworking from the outdoor section of Pavos, where peacocks would roam free and come say hi. We highly recommend driving up to Pavos for a coffee and a view!

Bonus info: It’s usually quiet the first few hours of the day, but it can get quite busy later in the day with large groups and local families.

Kathara Beach Cafe

🅿️ Parking: Few spots out front + a few more 2 minutes’ walk away
📍Location: 85105, Apollonos, Faliraki 851 00, Greece
🛜 Free wifi: Yes, unlimited
🔌 Outlets: Yes, there is one
🚻 Toilets: Yes

Right at Kathara Beach, you’ll find another beautiful cafe of the same name. This was actually within walking distance from the hotel we were staying at (Jimmy’s Garden).

If you plan to stay in Faliraki, this is a great cafe to go for your morning coffee! (They usually open at 10 am)

It’s located right on the beach, so you get a great view of the sea from the outdoor seating area. It’s perfect if you’re planning a beach day since you can go to the cafe in the morning for some coffee and food and head to the beach right from there.

You can also find some delicious breakfast and lunch at Kathara Cafe. It’s one of the local spots in Faliraki that we’d come to. In October, the season is dwindling here on Rhodes, so it was quiet most mornings.

Keep in mind that during the busy season, it’s probably quite busy because of the cafe’s convenient location.

You can check out Kathara Beach Cafe on Facebook here.

ONO

🅿️ Parking: No parking
📍 Location: 28 October Street & Amarndou Corner, Rodos
🛜 Free wifi: Not sure
🔌 Outlets: Not sure
🚻 Toilets: Yes

ONO is a great cafe located right in the heart of Rhodes Town, so it was a must-add to this list.

This is the second spot in Rhodes Town on this list, and since Monk Cafe is only coffee, we thought we’d add a delicious place that also serves food.

ONO is a vegan and vegetarian cafe that has plenty of great options to choose from. Josie had their Halloumi Salad, and it was delicious! Their whole menu is delicious, and you can’t go wrong with whatever you order.

Usually, we go for more traditional food, as Greek food is delicious, and while ONO is less traditional and a bit more pricey, I’m very happy we stumbled upon ONO and gave it a chance.

You can always have some delicious food here and then make your way to Monk Cafe for a nice coffee after.

Bonus Cafe: Nook Cafe on Symi Island

This isn’t on Rhodes Island, but there’s a good chance you end up going to Symi for a day trip, and if you do, you can’t miss out on Nook!

It’s a small coffee shop near the harbour on Symi Island, and it’s worth stopping by if you end up doing the day trip (it’s worth it).
