Black Friday is here and we are SO excited about it! We usually try to save a bunch of money on travel-related stuff by waiting for Black Friday. Travel companies tend to love Black Friday where they offer some pretty awesome deals.

Every year we look forward to buying cheaper flight tickets and saving money on hostels and hotels. Not paying full price on anything is what makes our digital nomad journey financially sustainable!

Now, most sites have extended their Black Friday deals for the whole weekend so you have a few days to plan your travels with friends and buy the trips + products for travelling you may need on your upcoming trip!

Let’s dive in!

Experiences

Booking.com

Discount: Start at 30% off selected accommodation (before taxes and fees)
Offer ends: Wednesday, December 1st, 2021 at 9:00 am UTC + 1

Over the years we’ve dabbled with different platforms for booking stays during our travels, and over time we’ve come to find that Booking.com is the most reliable one.

What we like about Booking.com is that prices for the most part aren’t insanely inflated like some of the other accommodation platforms. There’s always tons of options to choose from and they quite frequently have some sale, discount, or savings event happening.

If you’re fast you can get lucky with some great last-minute deals!

Hostelworld

Discount: Up to 55% off selected hostels
Offer ends: November 30th, 2021

If you’re ever travelling on a budget and looking for cheap hostels and good deals then explore Hostelworld’s options. On Black Friday in particular they have some incredible deals on hostels all around the world.

If you’re planning a trip to Europe, Asia, or South America there’s a good chance you’ll find something on Hostelworld. They’re in over 179 countries and have an abundance of different hostels literally everywhere. It’s like Booking.com for hostels.

Plus they usually have quite frequent sales through their email campaigns or on their app. We almost never pay full price for anything through Hostelworld because we just wait until the discounts come into play.

Kiwi.com

Discount: Discounts on tickets and promo codes (€50 or $50 discounts)
Offer ends: Friday, December 24th, 2021

Kiwi.com is awesome if you’re looking to book your next flight. It shows you all the different options and during Black Friday and all the way through Christmas eve, you can get a nice little discount on your next flight.

A cool feature we like on Kiwi.com is that you can let the website pick where you’re going to travel next by seeing where you can get the best deal.

Honestly, flights are one of the most expensive things to consider when it comes to travelling.  We always try and save as much as we can on flights and book them in advance where we can get the biggest discounts.

Omio

Discount: 5% off
Offer ends: Monday, November 29th, 2021

Omio is hands down the best app/site when looking at how to get around a country by busses and trains. If there’s a way to save money while travelling, transportation is one of them.

We love to take trains and busses around countries and explore hidden gems and more local areas. So we tend to use modes of transport such as trains and busses more often over rental cars for example.

Over time it can definitely add up if you’re always paying for transport. So one way we try to save some money is by booking some trips in advance if we’re 100% sure about the dates. A super-easy way to save money!

Use the code ‘OmioBF2021’ to grab your discount.

Products

Osprey Backpack

Discount: Up to 40% off
Offer ends: Doesn’t say

Whether as a carry-on for flying or a backpack for hiking up a mountain somewhere remote we travel literally everywhere with our Osprey backpacks. We both have one of the smaller Osprey bags but it still feels like so much fits in them. They’re light and comfortable and they last forever. Literally.

Osprey has an All Mighty Guarantee which means they will repair any damage or defect for any reason or free of charge — no matter when you bought your product. So that’s a big bonus since you can literally keep it/ replace it forever.

Osprey has a wide selection of sizes and colours so it’s super easy to find one that you like. If you’re looking for a new bag then Black Friday is the time to buy it.

Camera

Discount: Varies depending on the camera
Offer ends: Doesn’t say

Our Sony A6000 has been amazing to us and it comes with us on literally all our travels. We love taking photos and being creative when we’re out travelling. It’s a fun way to capture memories from adventures during travels.

Cameras can be quite expensive but we found the Sony A6000 to be somewhere in the mid-level price range and we couldn’t be happier with ours. The best part is that cameras are long-term investments. You can buy one and if you take good care of it then it can last you +10 years. We’re currently on year 3 with our Sony and it still works perfectly fine.

It’s a great camera for travelling as well. We always just take it with us in our carry-on since it doesn’t take up much space. Enjoy the everlasting memories a camera brings you!

GoPro Hero10

Discount: Save €260.00
Offer ends: Doesn’t say

GoPros feel like they’re made specifically for travelling. They’re light, compact, and take up almost no space at all. They’re a tiny little box that somehow films and takes pictures with incredible quality. We have one that we sometimes bring with us, and we’re so happy with the quality of it!

The nice thing about Black Friday when it comes to products like cameras and GoPros is you can really save a pretty penny. If you’re looking for a camera to capture outdoor adventures then consider a GoPro. It’s also super portable and takes up almost no space in your bag.

Kindle

Discount: 44% off
Offer ends: Doesn’t say

We’ve recently purchased our first Kindle, and we can’t believe we didn’t get one sooner! Since we’ve bought it, we’ve saved room in our luggage and backpacks while saving money on books (because e-books are a lot cheaper).

So if you think you can give up the feeling and smell of having a “real” book, then you should really consider getting a Kindle!
